Marr Rugby preview (22.3.2025): Must win for 1s while 2s aim to take the capital by storm

Marr Rugby senior fixtures (22.3.2025) (3pm kick offs)

  • Premiership: Marr Rugby v Edinburgh Accies
  • Intercity Reserve League: Boroughmuir v Marr Rugby

1st XV: It's a must win for both sides as they try to fight their way our of the drop zone. Marr won the reverse fixture at Raeburn Place on 21.2.2025 with a gutsy performance. The same will be needed today as Accies make a final throw of the dice to try to survive.

Marr's squad includes several 2s players called up to cover injury and other unavailability. They include 18 year old Jack Broadfoot who is included on the bench and may make his 1st XV debut from there.

2nd XV: For their penultimate match of the season the 2s hit the road to travel to Meggatland and face Boroughmuir. Coach Harry Murray is having to reshape his squad due to several regulars being called into the 1s squad.

In the league table, the 2s are three points ahead of Boroughmuir with both sides vying for teh top spot. With the fact that Boroughmuir's1s don't have a match it will be interesting to see their selection for the match.
