Marr Rugby round-up (26.10.2024): Agony and ecstasy

Marr Rugby senior results
Premiership: Marr Rugby 12 – Melrose RFC 22
West Reserve 1: Marr Rugby (3s) 42 – Hamilton Bulls (2s) 20

Summary
It was another day of mixed fortunes for Marr Rugby as the 1st XV missed a chance to take something from their match against Melrose. Approaching half time and having played into a strong wind they were 5-7 down when the visitors snatched a second try and at the same time Marr had a player sent off for a 10 minute rest. In the second half Marr managed to pull the scores level and at 12-12 it looked promising as the side tried to make good use of the continuing strong wind that was now at their back. However some missed opportunities, two attacks held up over the line and a third potential score adjudged to include a knock on, came back to haunt them and in the final quarter Melrose added two further scores.
