Marr Rugby's pre-son preparations continued with a 'friendly' match against GHK . The anticipated separate 1s and 2s matches failed to happen as the visitors arrived with a squad of mainly 1s players.

This generated a quick rethink of plans by coaches Kenny Diffenthal, Keuth Dunsmuir and Gordon McMillan and Marr fielded two separate squads comprised of 1s and 2s players, each playing in two of the four 20 minute periods.

At the end it was a useful hit-out to help bring match sharpness and also got Marr Rugby's new 1st XV captain off to a winning start.
