Marr started the match well and opened the scoring in what was an evenly matched first half. Greenock fought back and levelled the score before Marr edged ahead to close the first half in the lead.

At the start of the second half Greenock made another surge and effort to narrow the gap but Marr's defence held firm and at the same time they capitalised on any attacking opportunity to stretch the lead.

By the later stages of the match Marr's stamina showed through. The skill set from the players was high and the team and individual performances was very good and showed promise for future seasons. Well done to the players and coaches for their efforts during the season and to all the parents and others who have been on the touchline all season supporting and in particular the big numbers who we present on Sunday.

The win along with the 7s trophy at Hamilton on Saturday made it another silver weekend for Marr Rugby and further evidence that progress is being made across the club and the future continues to be Purple and Gold.
